UEFA Champions League 2019 Final: Ajax vs Barcelona?

After the delightful quarter final games, the final four are ready to lock horns. It will be Barcelona taking on Liverpool and Tottenham taking on the seasons wonder Ajax. 

Barcelona dominated the second leg (barring a first few minutes) and emerged as 3-0 winners on the night and 4-0 on aggregate. Lionel Messi again made the difference as he scored two of the three goals one of which was a beautiful bending effort and the other was De Gea howler. Coutinho did will to get a goal by finishing at the top right corner. Liverpool, on the other hand, had a fairly easy tie against Porto and won 6-1 across the two legs. Their forwards, Mane, Salah and Firmino managed to score 4 goals out of 6, with Firmino netting twice. 

After stunning Real Madrid at their home, they stunned Juventus at their home with a 1-2 win and advanced through to the semi finals. Ajax not only book their place in the last four of the Champion League but they also become the first team to come through three qualifying rounds and reach the semis. They have booked there place to face Tottenham. Tottenham along with City produced an all time classic as the former progressed on away goals. That match had everything from goals to VAR and beautiful goals. It was thrilling watch.

Barcelona will be playing their first game at Camp Nou and this can work against them as they fail to perform in the Champions League away games. If we look at this seasons campaign then they had a goal less draw against Lyon and a 1-0 victory against Manchester United; that too an own goal. We must not forget how Barcelona had thrown away a 4-1 lead against Roma last year and how they were humiliated by Juventus in 2016-17. So Liverpool are having an added advantage as the second leg is their home game.

Ajax and Tottenham are surprise packages. Tottenham are having injuries concern as Kane, Sissoko, Eric Dier and Harry Winks are supposed to miss the tie and Heung-Min Son will not play any part in the first leg as he is suspended. Anyways, one of them will be playing the final of Champions League. Did anyone thought that? Lets see how this tie unfolds.
