Is it the END for the old gaurd(Real Madrid) ?

Last few weeks have been a nightmare for the Real Madrid fans and players. Just when they thought that the team is ready for challenges under their new manager Santiago Solari they got knocked out of the Copa Del Rey, Champions League and are 15 points behind the League leaders Barcelona. Not only this they have won only once in the last three weeks out of the five games they have played.

Losing two Clasico in 3 days and 3 days later got knocked out of Champions League against Ajax with 1-4 defeated at home sums up Real Madrid's current season. But who is to be blamed? Manager? Perez for not signing a replacement for Ronaldo? or the players who failed despite their efforts?

What i feel is neither Lopetegui or Solari have got the best from the talented squad. Moreover there was lack in goal scoring as neither Bale, Benzema and other forwards stepped up to grab the opportunity.  Bale and Benzema have scored 7 and 11 goals respectively and Ramos is the third highest scorer for the side with 6 goals. Isco is not given a chane under Solari's management. Apart from the players the board room people must also be blamed for not signing a proper replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

But whats done is done. The management of the club must look into the flaws and rectify them before the next season. With Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino up for the grab they must find a perfect manager and a goal machine who can provide them those key finishes. Another thing to take care is that the current stars Modric, Ramos, Marcelo and Benzema have entered there 30's so a long term team building is required.
